I'm an HPC sysadmin for Purdue University, where I do a LOT of hardware work, low-level OS tinkering, performance tuning of researcher applications that I only learned existed a week ago, coding puppet to do what I want, and lots and lots of bash, perl, ruby, YAML, javascript, python, go, tcl, and some FORTRAN IV (unfortunately). I also do a lot of debugging C and C++ code, especially in infiniband NIC drivers and firmware, where dying would only be the start of your bad day.

I've had extensive experience with xCAT, Puppet, CFEngine, Subversion, Git, GitHub Enterprise, Thinlinc, Moab, Torque, PBS Pro, Condor, GPFS, Docker, Ganglia, Sensu, Splunk, redis, RabbitMQ, InfiniBand, Intel Xeon Phi, Cisco & Mellanox Network Infrastructure Administration, distributed filesystems administration, Apache, Cacti, GoCD, hardware & software troubleshooting (including developing highly parallel troubleshooting methods), Hyper-V, Openstack, Docker, LXC-containers, RPM package building and modification, and countless other IT Bingo softwares.

In my personal time I work towards a PhD specializing in high energy particle physics, after having double majored in math & physics. I also play the guitar and piano, fool around with rendering software (especially blender, but I've goofed around with about half a dozen others), write dirty words very prettily (I learned calligraphy for my wedding to hand-make all of the invitations, but I kept with it afterwards. One of the more fun things to do is write bad words or crude rap lyrics in a fancy script), play around with Arduinos and RasPis toward the goal of home automation. I have a mild addiction to fashionable clothes, and have an embarrassing number of fancy shoes, luxury watches, and goofy socks.

I used to be a terminal heart patient, but fought against it with years of extremely careful exercise. I'll probably die young, but it won't be at 27 like my doctor originally thought (as of writing this, it is 2 months until my 28th birthday and I'm fit as a fiddle, save for pain from a botched knee surgery and a few other much more minor ailments). I was once a slave in Guatemala. I feel like a boring person most of the time, but I have a few REALLY good stories.
