I need to verify the precision of a PHC clock on my Linuxboard. Therefor I want/need a clock, wich is as precise as possible. My first guess was to simply use the timestamps i get using the Date command in ns.I looked it up but couldnt find any information as to where it actually got its frequency from. Could anyone here help me out with this? Note that i dont really care about the time on the clock itself. All im interested in is a stable frequency source i can use to measure my PHC clock with.

Thx in advance! Alex
