I have a firmware image for which I want to create an emulator using qemu. When I extract the firmware image using binwalk, I get a file system, and it also contains a kernel zImage.

How do I go about this?

What I have tried till now, is that I have emulated an arm architecture using qemu and a busybox filesystem and I have copied the contents of the firmware file system into the busybox file system and I tried to chroot into the firmware file system. I got the following error

chroot: can't execute '/bin/sh': Permission denied

How do I resolve this?

Also, am I following the correct approach for firmware emulation? Or is there another way to do this?
