I try to mount a NTFS partition in nautilus, and it refuse to mount it and suggests
resume and shutdown
Windows fully (no hibernation or fast restarting), the problem is that I have already disabled fast restart and there is no options to hibernate in Windows 8.
sudo ntfsfix /dev/sdXY, where
sdXY is the name of your device.
This happen when "Fast startup" is enabled in Windows. To turn it off, follow this steps:
- Boot Windows.
- Search for and open “Power options” in the Start Menu.
- Click “Choose what the power buttons do” on the left side of the window.
- Click “Change settings that are currently unavailable.”
- Under“Shutdown settings” disable “Turn on fast startup”.
