Now I am facing a new problem. Installation type is empty, and the page in which Installer asks option like

1. Install Ubuntu alongside windows
2. Something else

is also missing. After choosing languages and keyboard options, directly installer took me in to this and everything is empty. Even I opened 'files' app in live system it did not show any of my hard drives. May be its not detecting my disks.

Things I tried already:

  1. Disabled secure boot
  2. set nomodeset and acpi=off
  3. I have confirmed that my SATA is already AHCI

  • I suggest you try an internet search. For example, searching for ubuntu "installation type" empty yields a few results including askubuntu.com/questions/802152/…. I see references to possible causes like a Thinkpad SSD or Windows fast startup. – berndbausch Feb 12 at 5:56
  • What brand/model system? Many need UEFI update & if SSD, SSD firmware update. Is Windows fast start up also off? askubuntu.com/questions/843153/… & askubuntu.com/questions/145902/… – oldfred Feb 12 at 15:13
