Using dracut, is there a way that I can create an initramfs image that will boot without a root filesystem specified (that is, without a root= on the kernel command line)?

When I try specifying an empty root=, I get a complaint from dracut on boot about an invalid or empty root=.

It's not really important why (I can think of a few different cases where it makes sense), but in my case I don't need a root filesystem.

I am using grub as the boot loader, but I don't think that's particularly important either.
