My printer normally prints very crisp text, but I have received a PDF (a ticket) that is utterly slow to print and which prints fuzzy.

The printer is Xerox Phaser 6140 which has PostScript.

I suspect that the PDF is converted to graphics before it is sent to the printer: That will both explain the fuzziness and why it is utterly slow.

How can I confirm my suspicion? How can I tell CUPS that PDF files should just be sent to the printer?
