I dual booted Ubuntu on a Gigabyte Aorus 7 KB laptop I bought recently and it says there's no wifi adapters found. Here are the following outputs from the terminal:

I've tried to git clone https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new.git to fix this but it doesn't work.

It'd be great if someone can help me with this issue

  • Gigabyte Aorus 7 KB. Yea it has a wireless adapter. WIFI works fine on Windows. – avatarhzh Nov 16 '20 at 23:09

Please add the output of apt policy linux-firmware and uname -a. The current version of the linux-firmware package includes the firmware (iwlwifi-cc-a0-46.ucode) for your Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 card (8086:2723) (also available from intel). You also need a 5.1 kernel or newer, e.g. linux-image-5.4.0-53-generic. Disable Secure Boot if enabled. – Freddy Nov 16 '20 at 23:29
  • What it you use a current version of Ubuntu, i.e. 20.10 rather than 18.04? – roaima Nov 16 '20 at 23:32

I was able to fix this by upgrading to 20.04

  • Thanks for the solution. BTW, did you face any other problem after installing Ubuntu 20.04 in Gigabyte Aorus 7 KB. Is GPU driver is working fine? Please let me know your feedback. It will be really helpful. – arefin Dec 24 '20 at 4:34
  • No as far as I can tell I haven't faced any new problems after the upgrade – avatarhzh Dec 25 '20 at 5:02
