I'm running a home network using a Linux gateway (raspbian) as a router. It's a simple setup just using iptables as a firewall and traffic forwarding between the local and ppp0 interface.

I want to be able to make sure my work laptop doesn't experience any latency when other people are doing high throughput activities such as Youtube etc. E.g I don't want poor call quality during a meeting.

I know that TC has a priority scheduling queue, but being a complete novice at the tc command I have no idea how to use it.

Could someone give me a starting place to prioritise an IP on the network using tc?
