Cannot for the life of me understand how to use fstab so I can change title info on video files stored on a NAS. The only way I can do it at the moment is move all the files off the NAS onto my desktop, change them, delete the old files in the NAS and copy the desktop files back into the NAS. I added:

//192.168.1.72/volume_1/ /volume_1/ cifs username=somebody,password=something-else,iocharset=utf8,sec=ntlm  0  0

with many variations including replacing the IP with //smb:server3/volume_1/ into fstab, but I always get either:

Couldn't chdir to /volume_1/: No such file or directory

or:

mount cifs: mount point does not exist

There is no "root" or "home" directory on the drive, just "volume_1" Can someone tell me what the syntax should be? Thanks.
