I'm having a really hard time troubleshooting network manager (NM).

I installed and configured VPNbook and soon after my NM stopped working.

I've tried nearly every thread and each solution appears to give some faulty outcome. The closest I've gotten is by using airmon-ng check kill and then using service NetworkManager start and after waiting several minutes it loads and then idles with ext4_mb_generate_buddy:747.

My apologies, I should clarify that I know barely anything about the Linux command line, but if anyone knows of a way to help I would be very grateful.

  • ok. execute sudo service NetworkManager start in one terminal. Then run sudo service NetworkManager status in another and post output. In addition, while NetworkManager is trying to start run sudo cat /var/log/syslog | tail -20 > syslog.txt and sudo cat /var/log/messages | tail -20 > msglog.txt and post their corresponding logs to pastebin. In other words we need more information. – BarBar1234 Aug 25 '19 at 4:57
