In my linux setup, I am trying to find ways to bind Ctrl+T to Backspace and Alt+T to Alt+Backspace.

There are many answers on SE or other forums to that effect (eg. here, here or here). Usually they are window-manager agnostic and have their own limitations (AutoKey is too slow and skips keys, xmodmap cannot map key combinations ... etc)

So, I would like to have a solution that is specific to a WM. I currently use MATE as my WM, is it possible to do this on MATE? If not, are there any similar window managers out there that allow such setup?
