I installed in my Linux Ubuntu Server virtual machine a Node.js web instance and started it on port 3001. I configured my host DNS to redirect the domain geekchic.com to the IP address of my Linux Ubuntu Server virtual machine. Then I used Apache to redirect the domain geekchic.com to the right port (3001). Once all configured, I use the web browser and type geekchic.com and the web browser cannot reach the website. I re-checked and Node.js instance is running, Apache geekchic site has been correctly enabled and Apache has been reloaded and restarted. But still impossible to reach the web site from outside…

  • Can you access the node using the ip-address:port instead of a domain name? Can you access the VM from your host? Make some low-level checks before going deeper. – deimos Jun 10 at 10:04
