I have an ASUS netbook Eee1008 which dual booted XP and Linux Mint. I inadvertently deleted the wrong partition when trying to remove the XP OS. I now receive only the message indicating I have no such partition & the command line Grub rescue >. Following advice on the Ubuntu site I have successfully used the ls command to determine that (hd0,msdos7) and (hd0,msdos8) are both ext2. However following their recovery template I end up with error: file ‘/grub/i386-pc/normal.mod not found’. Should I use something other than i386-pc? I cannot access my netbook’s boot setup in the normal F2 or F9 on startup. Advice welcome!
