I've added a ubuntu machine as an LDAP client by following the below steps. But now when trying to access my user accounts from the user accounts app I can't find any user profiles or information as shown in the below screenshot. Any advice why this is happening?

enter image description here

su root
apt-get install ldap-auth-client nscd
auth-client-config –t nss –p lac_ldap
cd /usr/share/pam-configs/
nano mkhomedir
set name: activate mkhomedir
#change default to yes
#change priority to 900
#remove session-interactive-only
#after session: change “optional” to “required” and after pam_mkhomedir.so write “umask=0022 skel=/etc/skel” then save and close the file
pam-auth-update then mark activate mkhomedir
/etc/init.d/nscd restart
Getent passwd
nano /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/50-ubuntu.conf
# then add: greeter-show-manual-login=true
