I have Red Hat 6.8. I accidentally removed the GNOME nm-applet when working with the keyring manager which is also located under “.gnome2”. I have since downloaded the nm-applet package (from http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/svn/gnome/network-manager-applet.html), but I do not know how to perform the install. The README has 0 bytes.

  1. Are there any detailed steps on how to install/configure the nm-applet once it is downloaded to the workstation.
  2. How to use nmcli in Red Hat 6.8 to configure a wifi connection?

  • I ended up installing the NetworkManager program again from a CentOS mirror and then fixing the yum DB. – ITguru1 May 23 at 19:39
