I need the command for the following for using TCPDump:

  • Capture all packets on eth0
  • Send the line buffered output to standard out (STDOUT)
  • Set TCPDump to not perform name resolution for the observed traffic (or don't convert addresses).
  • You can do all of this with one instance of TCPDump.

why are you asking? .... this appears to be school work that you should be completing yourself – jsotola May 16 at 1:37
  • Hello lyerag. I should point out that this question has been put on hold not because it's homework, but because there's no evidence of you having tried anything at all. You might want to start with man tcpdump to see what options are available that could address the requirements. (There's also no such command as TCPDump; perhaps you meant tcpdump.) – roaima May 16 at 12:40

You could have looked this one up much faster then posting a question here.

tcpdump -i eth0 -n
