I have a fresh install of "linux mint" on a modern but quite limited PC. On this box the terminal in xfce terminal fails to print a character from the keyboard but it is in the buffer. So on the next keying the character printed in the terminal is the last key, but the new key is now also in the buffer. So if i press enter then the last key gets included but it is not visible on screen until the next input (e.g. new character or "enter" etc.). Does anybody have any idea to what i can do? Is this an interrupt issue or an known bug or can i do some sort of performance tuning?

I should mention that this does not happen on the same pc with xubuntu. There the xfce terminal works as expected.
