I have a linux mint running in openstack controller.

I have added 200GB of storage. It is showing under /dev/sr0. My root space is just only 8 GB. I want to add this 200GB storage to root partition so that I can use my system.

How should I assign this unallocated space to /root partition ?

  • /dev/srN is for CDROM/DVD drives, not hard disks. Assuming the disk your root filesystem is on is a virtual disk, you can increase it's size. Then, you can increase the size of the corresponding partition. Finally, you can increase the size of the filesystem. Consider adding information about /dev/sda, or perhaps /dev/vda. – Emmanuel Rosa Apr 15 at 7:11
