Every time I start up my computer I'm disconnected from the Nextcloud server. The Nextcloud client indicates No keychain service available. I saw some other posts on this problem but didn't understood how they solved the problem.

It's explained nowhere how to setup the Nextcloud client to stay logged in to the server.

I saw I had to install some packages qtkeychain, libgnome-keyring and gnome-keyring but now what ? Just installing these packages doesn't make it work.

PS : I'm on Fedora Gnome.

  • On Debian (buster) I don't remember exactly, but I think I ran kwalletmanager to create the initial wallet. Makes sense for a Qt app to depend on Qt/KDE provided tools. It's currently storing a Nextcloud password. This kind of tool won't be available properly if the desktop login is automatic (ie: without having actually provided a password). – A.B Apr 10 at 8:51
