I want to see if a process is running when shutdown is requested, and abort shutdown process if it is.

I know I can run a script within shutdown/reboot phase using init script etc.

But, is there any way to abort/cancel the shutdown/reboot during init script etc?

How about the other way around? Use a wrapper script or function to check if the process is running first, and then call the shutdown command. – Haxiel Apr 4 at 6:25
