My issue is this:

I am using a library that changes versions across Jessie -> stretch, and I have dependencies based on the stretch version.

Ideally, I can just this one time sudo apt-get from stretch, buster or sid while in jessie.

Is this possible with apt-get?

While you can do this, this situation leads directly to FrankenDebian. If you need the version from stretch, can you just upgrade your entire system to stretch? – kemotep Mar 24 at 1:21
