i'm trying to record my camera ip with ffmpeg but since it has a (damn) pcm_alaw audio codec it cant be recorded straight into mp4 container - or am i wrong?

But looks like when i record stream into .ts and then remux it to the mp4 everything works well, is there any way to do that while recording instead of record a file in .ts and then remux to mp4?

This is my command:

ffmpeg -use_wallclock_as_timestamps 1 -rtsp_transport tcp -i rtsp://... -c:a aac -c:v copy -flags +global_header -strftime 1 -f segment -map 0 -segment_time 3600 -reset_timestamps 1 file.ts
  • Okey if anyone care i get it worked with this command: ffmpeg -use_wallclock_as_timestamps 1 -rtsp_transport tcp -i rtsp://192.168.1.100:554 -c:a aac -c:v copy -flags +global_header -strftime 1 -f segment -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -segment_time 900 -reset_timestamps 1 /serv/usb/kurnik/file_%Y-%m-%d_%H-%M-%S.mp4 There wasnt a problem with the audio but with the third stream called 0:2 Data none which i just cut off by using -map 0:0 -map 0:1 so just used video + audio without that 3rd 0:2 data stream, dunno whats that but everything is working. – F O X Mar 5 at 11:27
