I am trying to mount an EWF image on Debian. From the original E01 format, I used ewfmount to mount it and it worked fine. Now, I need to mount the ewf1 file, and it claims that I do not have the correct permissions even though I am root. sudo and sudo bash are useless. I am following this guide.

I realise that the owner of ewf1 is root - but when wielding various forms of chown at it, root and not root, I am getting function not implemented. My commands are below.

$ sudo mount ewf1 mountp/ -o ro,loop,show_sys_files,streams_interace=windows

mount: ewf1: failed to setup loop device: Permission denied
