I have installed centos 7 on vmware which itself is installed on ubuntu 16

I want to connect to internet using nmcli (network manager), I have done the following :

nmcli connection add +connection.id ens33-connection +ipv4.addresses 192.168.131.2/24 +ipv4.gateway 192.168.131.1 +ipv4.method manual +connection.type 802-3-ethernet connection.interface-name ens33 +ipv4.dns 8.8.8.8

The connection was created successfully

I activated the connection using :

nmcli connection up ens33-connection

When I ping the gateway it works fine (there is reply) but pinging the dns 8.8.8.8 don't produce any reply

note :

on ubuntu I enabled forwarding and it was working fine when I tried manual configuration , but now using nmcli on guest some thing is wrong can't ping 8.8.8.8

What is the problem and how can I reach the dns ?

thanks
