I'm installing LDAP auth on CentOs7 (command-line way). I'm facing a strange behaviour:

[root@client]# su ldapuser01

(run as root) works and let me connect as ldap user (without prompting for a password)

[ldapuser01@client]$

but if I try to login in a new tty it keeps telling my password is wrong (even though the password let me log in on the server where the user was created).

The procedure I followed was this:

ldapauth --ldapserver=ldap.my-ldap-server.com --ldapbasedn="dc=my-ldap-server,dc=com" --enablemkhomedir --update

also

getent passwd ldapuser01

returns me

ldapuser01:*:1001:55:ldapuser01:/home/ldaphome/ldapuser01:/bin/bash

As cherry on the cake even homes are created

so it should be fine.

Where did my problem lay?
