I am trying to import a huge .sql file into a mysql server.

What (if any) is a best option to speed up the process (all other parameters being equal)

  • reducing the process niceness to -20?
  • setting the ioniceness to 0?
  • setting the ioscheduling class to real time?
  • any combination of the above?

All of these options only influence how the mysql process wrt. other processes. The best option to speed up the import is to stop or pause all other activities on that server except for the mysql server. – dirkt Dec 15 '18 at 9:09
