I occasionally come across this document, XSETTINGS registry, which lists some properties or keys that I can set to configure my user experience for GTK applications.

How do I set these?

Can I put them in a file or do I need to run some daemon to get them to be recognized?

Here is the question/answer which prompted this. Basically I thought it might be useful to have Gnome Settings Daemon configured with the correct DPI, since it uses its default of 96 DPI to override the value I have set via Xft.dpi in Xrdb.

I tried gsettings list-recursively but nothing contains the word "dpi" and the syntax seems different from that of the above XSETTINGS document.
