I installed arch linux virtually on my ubuntu 16.04. now, I want to install the GNOME desktop for it from this link when I run the command

sudo pacman -S xorg xorg-server

I see this:

According to the official documentation you need to install the "gnome" package. Please see the documentation for further instruction.

You don't need to choose one. You just have to press enter and install all the packages related to X. After X has be installed, you have to type

sudo pacman -S gnome gnome-extra

Doing this you be able to install Gnome with all features contained in gnome-extra
