We have a driver which creates volume snapshot. However, on RHEL 7.2 systemd-udevd is crashing RANDOMLY after removing the snapshot device, say /dev/volsnap001. The crash dump says:

unable to handle kernel paging request at 0000000000001f50

I have few questions here:

  1. Why systemd-udevd is accessing snapshot device generated?
  2. I created a rule in “/usr/lib/udev/rules.d/80-udisks2.rules" as follows:

KERNEL=="volsnap[0-9]*", GOTO="udisks_probe_end"

But it didn't work as expected and systemd-udevd crashed again randomly. I mean, By randomly, it crashes after a random number of trials to create snapshot and removes the snapshot.

Is there any way I can modify the rule, so that this device will not be probed?
