I have installed encrypted software RAID 1 on ubuntu server: enter image description here

After installing I got ubuntu successfully booted up. Then I tried to remove one drive, after that boot failed:

Why I cant boot if its RAID 1 ? And what should I do to boot from one drive?

  • Ubuntu is known for refusing to run degraded RAID at boot time [google it]. LVM can't proceed without a running RAID. Does it ever drop you to a shell? dmesg and cat /proc/mdstat. – frostschutz Sep 8 '18 at 8:13
  • Nope, but I can boot from Live CD if it helps – Andrei Sep 8 '18 at 8:48
