I would like to create a virtual monitor that outputs at 4k stereoscopic so I can use my phone (with a 4k display) in my VR headset as a monitor for my PC. I know it won't be 3D but I need to output two cloned images from 0 to 1920 pixels width wise is the left eye and from 1920 to 3840 is the right eye. I plan to capture this display output in ffmpeg and stream it to my phone that acts a display in my VR headset.

I know how to capture displays in ffmpeg but I don't know how to create a virtual display with stereoscopic output.

I currently run fedora 28

any advice would be most welcome.
