How do you get arch linux on a virtual machine using internal network with a static ip to connect outside of the network?

I am having trouble connecting it outside of the internal network. I am able to connect to the other network machines and ping them and drill/dig command outside machines.

added ip address add broadcast dev enp0s3

added ip route add default via dev enp0s3

added to /etc/resolv.conf:

Able to get a static ip and it appears on arp table on router. Able to ping outside network and pacman works.

Update Solved: The problem was the nameserver and [Resolve] had a typo. Had to put [Resolve] and then nameserver.

  • What's the output of ip route? – Torin May 22 '18 at 7:45
  • Thank you for adding the information to your question. When you add it, please consider: if it's code (i.e. output from a terminal) please select it and use the {} button to format it. Otherwise you lose line breaks and it's harder to read. – roaima May 22 '18 at 11:21
