I have a Linux mint 18.1.
Linux workstation 4.4.0-121-generic #145-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 13 13:47:23 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
If I press Cntl+Alt+Del a few times (7 times within 2 seconds), then it goes in for a restart. Also, if I run
init6 from within the terminal, it restarts without any problems.
When I checked the forums, I found that
shutdown -P now- would work. But I wanted this to work the way it did before from the GUI interface and not from command line
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" acpi=force apm=power_off- In this setting
acpi=force apm=power_offis supposed to do the trick by modifiying
- After step 2 I did update
apm power_off=1within the
update-grubfrom terminal for no avail.
What's going wrong and what am I missing?
