how can I install amd drivers for Radeon r2 graphics? I'm running Linux mint cinnamon edition, Downloads fine but at the end says there is an error in the kernel or something. I know AMD doesn't make any more updates

Black screen of death is typical for using closed-source proprietary drivers from AMD and Nvidia on Linux. Been there done that not going back. I don't even understand why they bother while their drivers clearly do not work more often when they do. At this point your are better off reinstalling your OS from scratch and staying away from closed-source drivers. But yes, you should tag your question with the OS distro and version. – ajeh Apr 19 '18 at 19:29
