I'm currently using GNOME 3.28.0 in Arch Linux 4.15.15-1-ARCH.

I've noticed that whenever I restart the computer, sometimes on the login screen (I'm using GDM) I don't have the option to start GNOME or GNOME on X11, so it defaults it to the later one. The issue is that, a few things doesn't behave correctly when I'm not using Wayland, for instance, some power management features: turn off the screen, auto-sleep, etc.

Moreover, why wouldn't this be consistent and have both options all the time? I haven't installed anything new in a while.

Any clues where I can look at?

For instance, right now I'm using X11:

[gorre@uplink ~]$ echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
