I am looking for a way to move data onto a Micron M25P80 Flash Card over SPI bus on a Xilinx Zynq 7100 emulated in QEMU. I am not sure which driver to use. I would like to use the Cadence SPI driver but I am not sure if that will work. I am trying to run my user space application on QEMU, and although I have specified that I want SPI included in my device tree, it does not appear as a device in the /dev/ directory.

I am not sure if it would be easier to use spi-dev in the device tree and use that driver. I tried setting spi-dev up in the device tree but it does not appear as a device in QEMU. This may be a side-effect of QEMU however. I am also not sure if I would need to nest the M25P80 card under the spi-dev to be able to access it with the spi-dev driver.

It also looks like there are SPI drivers included under /sys
