I've Asus G74SX laptop. The CD/DVD drive is not working. I've downloaded the iso files of CentOS 7 CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1611.iso. It is present in a pen drive.

I tried to boot the machine from the pen drive, but couldn't do so. Is it possible to boot from pen drive? If not, then how do I install the CentOS 7 on my windows 7 laptop?

  • Are you saying that when you mount the pen drive and list the contents there's a file called CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1611.iso listed? If so, that's not right, you need to either restore the image to the pen drive (if your computer supports that type of boot) or make a bootable usb with a program like rufus. – Schives Jul 1 '17 at 19:40
