I am new to Linux.

I want to create a development server (Gitlab/Tomcat,...)

I have already installed Ubuntu 16.10 LTS

I have read in forums that it is wise to create special users without login access and restricted permissions using the useradd command

Now I want to install gitlab and run it under such a special restricted user

Question 1: Is this the right command: useradd -r -s /bin/false gitlab ? If yes, how do I change to this user and install and run gitlab with it?

Question 2: What are the common best practises in Linux for user management and running services facing the internet?
