I noticed some changes at the grub menu: the wallpaper disappeared (Kali logo)

I tried booting in recovery mode running

apt-get clean && apt-get update

but that fails with some error messages, any help?

  • What do you see if you run systemctl status openvas-scanner.service like the boot log suggests? Commented Feb 21 at 5:34

I had the same issue. that means kali linux have some missing or damaged files.

  sudo apt-get upgrade

if this does not solve

  sudo apt-get install -f
