Here is my
/etc/hosts on a fresh CentOS:
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4 ::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6
I guess the
-6 variations are IPv4 and IPv6 writ explicit, but why does CentOS feel like I need
localhostN.localdomain? Are they standard usage for something? Can I get rid of these without breaking anything?
