I would like to open a new terminal using any method (subprocess, etc.) through my original Python script with a following command -- ls -- and keep it minimized so it won't appear on my screen, but will be available to view anytime.

How can it be done?

You have to learn to separate problems into smaller subproblems, and solve them one after the other. Here you would start like this: 1) how to launch a terminal from another terminal. 2) How to launch terminal with ls. 3) How to launch terminal minimized. 4) Combine 2&3. 5) Launch anything from python. 6) Launch your command from python. – Alex Stragies Dec 25 '16 at 22:32
