This question already has an answer here:

After searching, I can't still figure out how to edit $PATH. Now its value is:

PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/games:/home/hduser/hadoop/bin:/home/hadoopuser/hadoop/bin:/home/hadoopuser/hadoop/bin:/home/hadoopuser/hadoop/sbin

I would like the one related with hduser to be discarded, since it's wrong and I think bin has a duplicate, should be also discarded.

  • I use a utility for that sort of thing (you may be amused): newpath. – Thomas Dickey Jan 27 '16 at 1:41
  • Thanks @ThomasDickey, I will check, since the duplicate is not clear on how it answers my question. bash may want to comment. – gsamaras Jan 27 '16 at 1:46
