I am using raspbian and have came accross a problem when using isc-dhcp-server .

The problem seems to arrise when I change the ordering of the blocks within my etc/network/interfaces file

For example, the following ordering of blocks works fine.

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface eth0 inet static
        address 192.168.1.100
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        gateway 192.168.1.1

allow-hotplug wlan0

iface wlan0 inet static
        address 192.168.1.200
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        gateway 192.168.1.1

iface default inet dhcp

iface wlan1 inet static
        address 192.168.42.1
        netmask 255.255.255.0

However if we change them around like the following

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface wlan1 inet static
        address 192.168.42.1
        netmask 255.255.255.0

iface eth0 inet static
        address 192.168.1.100
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        gateway 192.168.1.1

allow-hotplug wlan0

iface wlan0 inet static
        address 192.168.1.200
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        gateway 192.168.1.1

iface default inet dhcp

I notice the isc-dhcp-server returns a error in the /var/sys/log file which states

Multiple interfaces match the same subnet: wlan0 eth0

How does reordering blocks cause this? Is it a bug?
