Thanks for your time. When I type either of the above suggestions, though, I get this error message: sed: -e expression #1, char 17: unknown option to `s'. I'm trying to figure out if I typed something wrong, or if something else is wrong.

@AndrzejA.Filip Other than using at to send a local message when a scheduled process generates output, how can I try sending a message to myself? This is all so new to me.
