I like to spend time with my lovely wife, our two beautiful daughters, and our dog. I'm also a fan of geek humor, and I've been known to flip out and write codeā€¦ elegant code, if I'm really lucky.

comment How do I encrypt git on my server?
Does su - git work? Also, what is the point of encrypting the FS if you want to have it always available if the machine is on? Is it strictly to protect against offline attacks?

Change alphanumeric to numeric, since that is what the question is actually about.

comment How can I close a terminal without killing its children (without running `screen` first)?
@Mikel that combined with my failure to find any docs makes me think I just imagined that. The Solaris thing was real, though.

@Mikel Before I learned to stop worrying and love the tmux, I used the -p option on a Solaris box. I also have vague memories of doing it on a mongrel CentOS box (possibly zsh has a builtin that supports it?), but I can't find any docs on that.
