Also, does it work if you list the script name explicitly in sudo rather than the wildcard (and is the filename a symbolic link?).

What does visudo -c return (checks sudoers for errors). Also, can you confirm the full version of AIX (oslevel -s) and the version of sudo installed?

8.8.8.8 works fine anywhere in the world - if you're doing the stuff above on your company network, then your company is blocking 8.8.8.8. I run plenty of CentOS and RHEL under VirtualBox. VB is doing nothing with DHCP or DNS. You need to find out why your DHCP is being inconsistent.

Plus -if you can't get to 8.8.8.8 from your host, you'll never get to it from your VM. So you need to find out why you're getting inconsistent DHCP responses, or which DHCP server is giving out 8.8.8.8.

It's only going to get 8.8.8.8 from either your DHCP server(s) or static config.
