Slightly geeky, overly cynical and delusional about my own self importance.

comment selinux can you explain it to me in Jo simplest way
Too broad, and not what StackExchange sites tend to be about. If you have specific questions about specific elements of SELinux, feel free to ask those, but not for someone to write an exam answer for you.

comment Is there a way to tell sudo to set my username as owner for the files created instead of root?
Yes, mistype on my part - but I assume the user ID in question can't read the file either, because they still wouldn't need sudo. So we have to assume the user ID intended to own the final file has no access to the original file. Either way, this isn't a sudo 'problem'. Your answer suggests preserving an owner that we have to assume isn't desired.

Can you use ssh and does it work if you do? I've just installed Terminator v0.95 on Debian and can ssh into an AIX machine, TERM is xterm, and it all works fine.

Can you include in your query the output from echo $TERM from your AIX session. Also, what terminal type have you told Terminator 0.95 to emulate? Finally, by remote in, do you mean ssh, telnet, rlogin, etc?

I presume the person running sudo doesn't own the original file, otherwise they wouldn't need to use sudo.

comment Edit a command?
@KaanKölköy - this will probably get closed as a duplicate. Feel free to post a new question specifically about 'editing shell commands', but you'll need to be specific (and it might not be as easy as you want, depending on what command you're trying to change).

Can you show the content of some of the files you have to update and the rough steps you followed, obviously not asking you to recreate the whole article you've linked to, but a summary and the output of the various stages may help. Also, what output did you get?

You should add this as an answer (with detail) and then accept it, to help other people who find this issue.
