Shell script to backup directories There are also incremental backup tools (based on rsync) like e.g. rdiff-backup. But rather follow @Gilles's and @sparticvs's advice: revision control! |

Fedora 17 : Cannot open font file True As I see the same "missing font" (is True a flag to use some default?), the mounting problem seems to be unrelated. See Redhat/Fedora Bug 799401 |

Find and remove many files by specific content In the rare case that find might not suffice, you can use -print0 and --null, respectively: find somedir -somefilters ... -print0 | xargs --null someexec. I am not sure about the differences between GNU and POSIX commands, though. |

How to extract annotations from PDF files? From the lack of (alternative) answers or non-programmers-tipps I gather that this question might be more appropriate for Stack Overflow where I found this question Extracting text from PDF with Poppler (C++). Shall I ask it there as a new question or can someone move this thread? |

How to run grep on a single column? To avoid localization issues (date format affects column order) it is often suggested to ensure standard format and language: LANG=C ls -l | awk ... |

How to extract annotations from PDF files? Could you point me to a beginner-friendly documentation of python-poppler - I could not find more than demo-poppler.py. |
