I try to use LaTeX for all kind of documents - and thus I love this group here!
Further I just learned how fine one can compile PSTRICKS-Documents with xelatex to get PDF-Files.

Is there a way to stop having to write 'sudo' for every little thing in Linux? Or sudo -i as this simulates as login shell. It might be a bit closer to a native local root login than running bash or another shell via sudo. |

How to speed up my build Just as a little more help: You can also specify those argument in your environment with MAKEFLAGS. To better control the systems load I recommend using also the argument -l [load].
I personal prefer the long versions --jobs and --load-average for readability. |

Keyboard Problem with Debian testing and gdm3 Hi - the problem is solved. After reinstalling gdm3, x-server-xorg und the xserver-xort-input-* drivers, the problems remained. I tried logging in with screen-keyboard and found the last option Only accept long keystrokes (keyboard lag) (in menu for disabled users) activated. Disabling of course did it. Thanks for all help! |

Keyboard Problem with Debian testing and gdm3 @Gilles and rozcietrzewiacz: Thanks for those details. I found those packages, too - and installed them - but that solved not my problem... Any further ideas? |

sulog with openSUSE 11.2 (x86_64) Thanks, sounds fine. I used the common-session way. But - where goes the logging to? And - when beeing root it resulted in two entries in /var/log/messages: changed status from 0 to 1 immediately followed by restored status to 0. Any more hints? |
